Sometimes forgetting is all you need to get some sleep
Yesterday my mother turned 61, and we went up to Portland to celebrate. I've been dealing with car sickness/stomach problems for the last two days and I'm exhausted. In lieu of an actual update/Girlyman concert review (I'll try and do that tomorrow), I give you photos from the trip as well as a few from the last few weeks. Awhile ago I asked if anyone wanted me to take pictures of anything with my new camera; those are here as well.

These are photos from a few weeks ago when our cherry tree was in bloom.

II. Trip for Mom's Birthday
We stayed at the downtown Marriot. My favorite thing about that hotel is the crazy dancer stature in the lobby. He is out of control. I have a photo of it from the back (because his ass is astounding), but I've got to photoshop a chair out of that one so it'll be up later.

We went to the Saturday market this morning, and I bought an amazing wrap-around skirt from Lizzy @ Shabby Knapsack. Her stuff is really awesome; I think I may go up and get another one in a week or so. I also got this bracelet:

Finally, we stopped at Bridgeport which is this slightly surreal shopping center outside Wilsonville so my folks could get coffee and I could take
lunar8i8star's requested photo. I also wandered around and took pictures of the random "art" scattered about the place.
They have this fountain that emits not only water...but fire as well. *shakes head* It's accompanied by a statue of the freakiest woman....

She is so creepy. o_O

III. Requested photos
mopsie2002 asked for candid shots of people downtown. Those are really difficult to get; this was the best I could do. Down by the waterfront while at lunch with
bentastic.

And, the grand finale.
lunar8i8star, this is for you.

Now I've got to go find some food and then maybe I'll just crash for the evening. I'll babble about the rest of the trip and the Girlyman show at another time. Hope everyone had a great weekend. :)
