Music Rec: Rockabye Baby, Metallica
Aug. 2nd, 2009 07:29 pmFor my birthday this year
dissonant_dream found me the most hilarious gift, a copy of the Rockabye Baby Metallica album. For those of you unfamiliar with the Rockabye Baby discs, they're discs that "[transform] timeless rock songs into beautiful instrumental lullabies." The description on the back of the disc includes the following:
I finally got the chance to listen to this disc tonight and was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't nearly as cheesy as I feared it might be. I'm particularly taken with the following renditions:
(all links mp3 yousendit dls)
"Wherever I May Roam"
"Fade to Black"
"Nothing Else Matters"
I'm not sure Dean Winchester would approve..... ;)

The soothing sounds of the glockenspiel, vibraphone, mellotron and other instruments will lull your baby into a sweet slumber.
