Coworker C1 on Coworker J2: The white knight is talking backwards today.

Today was exhausting, but I'm not going to rant about it because what's the point? At least I had awesome music to listen to on the way home. Jesca Hoop is the former nanny of Tom Waits (who is considered something of a deity in this house). Waits has described her music as "going swimming in a lake at night." I think the image is apt. Grittier than Esthero, Jem, and Noe Venable, I think the artist Jesca most closely resembles is Nellie McKay, but with more dissonance. Her closer harmonies are a pleasure. I couldn't decide which track to upload, so you get two.

Whenever I hear Vivaldi's "Gloria in D" I am immediately transported back to senior year at Lewis & Clark. It feels like I sang this song three times a day for an entire year. Oddly enough, I still enjoy it, and even though my soprano is definitely not what it used to be, I still sing along every time I hear it.

My job finally gave me benefits (health care, dental, vacation, etc.) today. I feel like a real human being.
