debsThere are times when I get bored with music. I don't want to listen to anything I own, and everything just seems like the same tired stuff that's been playing on the radio since forever. Even bands/albums that I've loved since I first heard them become old-hat, which is depressing.
And then I'll buy a new album by a band with whom I'm not overly familiar, and something will click inside, and I'll remember why I love music.
The song for today is by Okkervil River, from their new album The Stand-Ins. I came late to the party in terms of this band, but I want to live in Stand-Ins and it's predecessor, The Stage Names. Whenever I hear these albums now I will think of driving south through the mountains.
