Anyone have a Dreamwidth invite code they're not using? *puppy-dog eyes*

I know and I'm jealous! I just want a backup for this journal in case LJ goes completely insane (again).

If you end up with an extra code, think of me?

I can stick you on my code list, if you'd like. (It's short! You can be #4!) Also, since I'm not sure how well this info is percolating through the greater fandom-sphere, let me add that if you log in with OpenID on Dreamwidth and validate your email address you have a chance of getting an invite code in the random-number-draw (they're giving out something like 50 codes/day that way) and you should get a code automatically when the site goes to open beta on the 30th.

Also, hi. It's been a long time. I was going through old posts after doing my Dreamwidth import, and I thought I'd pop over here and see how you are. If you'd rather I leave you alone, I will respect that.

Thank you for the information! I'm horribly out of the loop on, well, everything. I would greatly appreciate being added to your list if you don't mind, and I will check out the open id business when I get home from work.

If you'd rather I leave you alone, I will respect that.

Don't be silly. I miss you. We should talk sometime. Also, congratulations on the upcoming wedding!

Here is more info, then! The official Dreamwidth announcement post by one of its owners. And the [livejournal.com profile] metafandom tag for Dreamwidth is Dreamwidth and it's getting a fair amount of both technical and social use lately. The predictions of DW drama are ... interesting.

OpenID is super easy - go to the OpenID login page, type in your LJ URL, and hit Login. It will send you to LJ to make sure that you want to use that OpenID on Dreamwidth. Then you enter and verify an email address (which I think is under Manage Account) and you are good to go!

Thanks for the congratulations. We're excited. *g*

See, I knew I could count on you for information. :) It's very helpful as I am still hopelessly illiterate when it comes to this stuff.

Incidentally, if you would like to catch up sometime I'm still at the same email address (because I am a creature of habit).

The Hotmail one? I am still at wintercreek at gmail, for the record.

I am also buried under a pile of final papers and grading for the next two weeks or so. So if I am slow to respond, that's why.

Yes'm. Still spam free, if you can believe it! Can also be found at [first name].c.[last name] at gmail.

Good luck with all your school work! There are days I miss it, and some days I really don't. I'll write soon.

Did you get OpenID invited yet? If not, I can send you an invite code to an email of your choosing.

Turns out I'm a lazy idiot who didn't confirm her email address back when I got the open id because I was having a difficult time getting past the "prove you're not a robot" boxes. *face-palm*

So...I would take one of those invite codes if you got 'em. :) Either the hotmail or the gmail address would work fine. (And Thank You again. I do mean to write, and I will.)

Here's what I've gathered: It's livejournal the way it was meant to be; for the fans, run by fans, etc. If I get one I'm going to use it as a backup for this journal in case LJ implodes again. *shrug* I don't explain things well; I'll try to track down an actual description for you.

Well, we're there. I guess we'll play it by ear. I've never understood that expression. I mean, ears? What?

And you did awesome, thank you. :D

Turns out I was completely wrong about dreamwidth's purpose, but again am not going to expend too much effort at this point in time to try and figure it out. Why is everything (except the hours I am at work) moving so quickly these days? I feel like I never have time for anything. I kind of blame Buffy.

Play it by ear; a musical reference, yes? Like, there's no written score/instruction, so you have to play it by instinct/ear? That's my interpretation anyway! :)

*giant hugs* Some day I will figure this DW thing out.

Buffy is a good reason. :) I am leaving DW for now and will see what happens. I hate how fast time is going. I really hate it.

See, that makes perfect sense and I feel like I should have known that. I guess it is overused now.

*giant hugs* Some day I WILL figure this whole crazy LIFE thing out.
