As promised, The Kills' Keep on Your Mean Side reissue. I bought Midnight Boom last year and really enjoyed it, but I think I like this one more. It's a dustier, rougher sound. If you like the Tarbox Ramblers or the Soulsavers you'll probably find something here you like. Bluesy, dirty rock. Oh, if you're put off or severely annoyed by loud gum chewing (I fall into this category) you'll want to avoid the "Gum" track, natch. For SPN fans, might I suggest "Pull a U?"

Jon Foreman - "Resurrect Me" (yousendit mp3 dl)
Jon Foreman is categorized as simply "folk/rock" but his music is saturated with religion/religious images. Don't let it put you off, it's quite lovely. This is another one of my favorites, it's a beautiful version of the 23rd psalm:
